Winter Post Checks and Replacement
Post-harvest trellis maintenance is a critical part of winter operations. For many vineyards this process includes 2-3 passes through the vineyard including:
Post-Pushing (identifying the number of broken posts)
Post-Pickup & Removal (pulling broken posts out and removing them from the vineyard)
Post-Replacement
Tātou has several features which can help operations manage these tasks, track work, and report on critical replacement details.
Recommended Set Up:
Admin Menu > Clients
Load Posts per Row Data for your Blocks
Admin Menu > Tasks
Create 2-3 tasks specific to the passes through the vineyard
Default Tracking Type - Assign Rows
Default Unit Type - Posts
Contact support@tatou.app if the unit type you want is not available.

Operations Menu > Projects
Create Project(s) for Winter Post Replacement
Using the Bulk Scheduled Task Generator Create Scheduled Tasks
Pro-Tip: Using Scheduled Tasks is recommended for these tasks because the total units reported will likely be between 2-5% of the total posts in a block. Scheduled Tasks allow users to mark the task as DONE, once the pass is completed in the block regardless of the % Completion.
Task Tracking and Completion:
Post Pushing:
Tātou Office App Prep:
Assign Scheduled Tasks to the Crew(s) completing this task and change status to To-Do
Tātou Field App:
Users find these in the Schedule Screen of the Field App
Press Play on Scheduled Task to Start a Job
Assign workers to Rows
Edit the Units worked to reflect the number of broken posts per row
Save and submit Job(s)
When a Block is complete users can tap the check mark on the Scheduled Task to mark it as complete.
Post Removal and Replacement:
Tātou Office App Prep:
Assign Scheduled Tasks to the Crew(s) completing this task and change the status to To-Do
To provide a block sheet for the team replacing posts Office App users can run the Block Coverage Report for the POST PUSHING task for each block
Reporting Menu > Reports > Block Coverage Report
Select the Block
Select the the date range where post pushing would have occurred (can be a large window)
Run Report - This will be the Post Replacement Team’s Block sheet so they know where the broken posts are
Print or Email a pdf of Columns A - C from the Block Coverage Report

Column C will be the Total Broken Posts Per Row as tracked by the Post Pushing Crew
Tātou Field App
Users find these in the Schedule Screen of the Field App
Press Play on Scheduled Task to Start a Job
Use the Block Coverage Report to Locate Broken Posts that need replacing
Assign workers to Rows
Edit the Units worked to reflect the actual number of posts replaced per row
Tracking Post Replacement can be tracked using Simple Summary instead of using Assign Rows. However, Assign Rows will provide the most detailed reporting in the event that there are any questions on the data reported.
