Recommended set-up for your tablet

This document contains the recommended setup that will work best with Tātou.

Android/iOS Devices

  1. Add a secure passcode, avoid simple to guess passcodes, such as birthdates or 1234.

  2. Activate Find My Mobile.

  3. Maintain a tablet inventory that includes:

    1. The user's details

    2. The tablet details, including the type of device, IMEI number, serial number, etc.

    3. SIM card details

  4. Add labels to the device:

    1. The reverse of the tablet, e.g. Supervisor Device #01

    2. Tablet case, e.g. Case #01

Enabling the 'Pin App'

  1. Go to Settings.

  2. Tap Lock screen and security.

  3. Tap Other security settings.

  4. Change the Pin windows setting to ON.

For New Android Devices

  1. Go to Settings.

  2. Tap Security.

  3. Tap Other security settings.

  4. Tap Pin windows

  5. Change the Pin windows setting to ON.

  6. Change the Ask for Pattern before unpinning setting to OFF.
